Questions practices actually ask
- What does “per location” mean?
- Plans are priced per practice location. A single-office practice pays for one location; a group pays for each office it runs in Lien Hunt. Staff seats are included up to your plan’s user limit, and when the attorney portal ships its users will not be charged for.
- Is the 30-day trial really free?
- Yes. Create your workspace, invite your team, and load real cases for 30 days without entering a card. We will not charge you at the end of the trial without you choosing a plan first.
- What happens if we outgrow a limit?
- You get a warning at 90% of your user, patient and case limits, and at the limit new records of that kind wait until you move up a tier — everything you already have keeps working, stays readable and stays exportable. Document storage is the same: at the cap new uploads are refused, and nothing you have uploaded is ever removed or withheld.
- Do attorneys count as users?
- No. The attorney portal is still coming, and when it opens its users will be free on every plan that includes it — invite as many referring firms as you work with, at no change to your bill.
- Can we change plans later?
- Yes. Tell us and we move you — with self-serve plan changes and card billing arriving alongside the billing release. Nothing about your data changes when you switch tiers.
- Is Lien Hunt HIPAA certified?
- No product is — HIPAA has no certification scheme, and any vendor claiming one should worry you. Lien Hunt ships HIPAA-conscious controls (role-based access, two-factor authentication, an append-only audit trail, database-enforced tenant isolation) designed to support your compliance program, and we sign a Business Associate Agreement.
- Can we get our data out?
- Always. Reports and record lists export to CSV, XLSX and PDF today, and the REST API (Growth and Premium) is coming soon. Lien Hunt is not a funding company and takes no interest in your receivables — the data is yours.
- Do you help us migrate off spreadsheets?
- An import wizard is on the roadmap and is not switched on yet. When it ships you will upload your spreadsheet, map its columns onto Lien Hunt fields, and review the validation errors and suspected duplicates before a single row is written — then get a summary log of exactly what was created. Until then records are created in the app, and you can email us if a bulk migration is what this decision turns on.
